Ready to ring in the New Year? Experience the fun and excitement of a brisk swim in the Chesapeake Bay on New Year's Day! Come join us for the 5th annual "First Day in the Bay". This event is hosted by the Vacation Homeowners of Cape Charles and is a great way to start the New Year and connect with a few hundred of your neighbors! This fundraising effort supports the local community. First Day in the Bay T-Shirts will also be available. Event begins at 11:00 am at the Randolph entrance (near the Gazebo). Don’t miss Cape Charles’ 4th of July events starting with the parade and ending with the fireworks! The parade starts at 9:00 am - show up with your golf cart, bike, antique car or tractor decorated for the parade. Or watch from the sidelines as the parade passes and be ready with a bag since candy is thrown to the kids from the parade participants. Mid-day is the showing of the Sandlot at the Place Theater - free to the public and sponsored by the Vacation Homeowners of Cape Charles. End the night with fireworks set off in the harbor, with several good spots to view either from the harbor side or the beach.

Event sponsors, AJ's Bar & Grill and KCoast will be there serving Bloody Mary's, Mimosas and have beach towels available for purchase. Other First Day in the Bay T-Shirts will also be available. Event begins at 11:00 am at the Randolph entrance (near the Gazebo). We hope to see you there!

The Vacation Homeowners of Cape Charles sponsored the 2022 Historic Cape Charles Cookie Trail and had a fantastic turn out. There were 5 houses and the Bay Haven Inn featured on the tour, all decorated fabulously for the Christmas season. It is estimated 400+ people participated. The tour fund raised over $500 for the Cape Charles Volunteer Fire Department and collected a pickup truck load of canned goods donated to the local Food Bank. This is the first year the tour started at the Cape Charles Hotel which drew visitors through the Mason Avenue business district. The Almeta, located inside the hotel, opened for the event and remained busy for the afternoon. The Northampton Hotel also participated by offering discounted drinks.  Next year’s tour dates TBD.
